To promote the noble cause of education, All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS) was established in 1917 by Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur & H. H. Madhavrao Scindia, Maharaj of Gwalior. All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Pharmacy (AISSMSCOP) is a centrally located premium heritage institution run by AISSMS, Pune. College was established in 1996 with the predetermined goal of becoming a centre of excellence for pharmaceutical education and research. The College is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and approved by Government of Maharashtra and Pharmacy Council of India. College has very supportive management and is governed by the Governing Body and College Development Committee. Internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) ensures that the quality is monitored and maintained at all levels.

 

​The Institute’s quality has been endorsed by NBA (B. Pharm programme, 2013-2016), followed by all the academic programmes being accredited by NAAC (Cycle I, 2018-2023, A grade and Cycle II, 2024-2029, A grade) and is included under section 2 (f) & 12 (B) of UGC act 1956. Every year the college has been ranked amongst top 100 Colleges by NIRF Ranking of Government of India.Other achievements include being listed in the 10 Best Pharmacy and Nursing Institutes in India, Best Principal award, Best teacher award, championship trophy for six consecutive years in National Pharmacy week to name a few. Quality teaching is very well supported by state of the art infrastructure and cutting edge research.

The College's Innovation Council (IIC) was constituted with the primary aim of providing a platform for young researchers. In the last 27 years several batches of B. Pharm, M. Pharm and PhD have benefited from this academically oriented College.

Innovative teaching and learning techniques are practised resulting in All India rank 1 at National level competitive examinations like GPAT. Skill to think “out of the box” to address real world problems is reflected through repeated success at National level competitions like “Anveshan”. Other research achievements include P.D. Sethi award for best research publication, twice best M.Pharm thesis award at National level, numerous awards at National level Research Competitions like Anveshan and Avishkar and many more.

​The Placement cell of the college is in relentless pursuit of opportunities for the students due to which they have been placed in diversified fields of pharmaceutical core and allied health industries. AISSMSCOP attributes this success to their dedicated Training and Placement Cell, Comprehensive Training Programs, Robust Industry Partnerships and Placement Drives. This is a testament to the efforts in providing top-notch support and resources. AISSMSCOP continues to strive for excellence to ensure that their graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the professional world.

The education of pharmacists is vital in ensuring that the medications and therapies patients receive are effective, safe, and appropriate. Pharmacists contribute to every aspect of healthcare, from research to patient counseling, from medication management to public health initiatives.

The vision of the college is to be amongst the top ten Pharmacy colleges in India by imparting excellence in pharmacy education and instilling research temperament in pharmacy students. The infrastructure is regularly upgraded to maintain high standards of education. The Mission of the college is to inculcate timeless values of calibre, competence, confidence and conscience in budding pharmacists and to indoctrinate quality in all aspects of Pharmacy education thereby enabling provision of better healthcare.​The college has an efficient faculty of 34 teaching staff amongst which 13 hold doctorate degrees. Fifteen are approved as PG Guides and 7 as PhD Guides. The college has received research grants of around 1.6 cr. The faculty of AISSMS COP has more than 500 publications in peer reviewed journals. Also 4 patent applications have been filed. So far Faculty members have fetched grants of over Rs 1.5 crore.

Students also need avenues to channelize their inherent enthusiasm and idealism. Anubandh is an initiative of our institute under which students are provided a platform to work with NGOs in the field of women empowerment, disease awareness, green initiatives and many more. Studies have shown that when young people are provided opportunities to contribute to other people’s lives and form healthy relationships with caring adults, it has a positive impact on their mental well being and life trajectories. It is truly the need of the hour to make campus life a positive experience for our young people.
